Nubix HD & HDX Hybrid DVRs |
|
|
| |
As IP cameras come down in price there will be many security networks in residential and commercial settings that have a mix of technology. The Nubix HD and Nubix HDX series are designed for just such a setting.
IP cameras provide digital streaming video. Standard CCTV cameras (or legacy security cameras, or traditional CCTV cameras) provide a composite analog video signal. Digital and analog signals are very different, and interface and storage requirements for both kinds of camera are necessarily quite different. This has led many "hybrid" facilities that use both kinds of surveillance cameras to invest in two different technologies to store and monitor their cameras. No more. Available in 8-channel and 16-channel models, the Nubix HD and HDX series simplifies your storage needs by letting you connect to either type of camera or both types at once, using the same product. No need to learn two different programming setups, no need to provide power and room for two separate boxes.
An imbedded Linux operating system with a graphical user interface lies at the heart of this DVR. This makes programming and setup menus easy to navigate. It's a snap to set up event-triggered functions like motion detection or having the DVR email you if it detects unauthorized activity.
If the multilingual GUI (graphical user interface) ever needs an update you can download it for free from our support site. The process is simple too - merely put it on a USB flash drive and then follow the menu driven instructions to upgrade your DVR.
Record video in H264, MPEG4 or MJPEG compression using all the video quality settings you would normally expect (brightness, contrast, etc.). Record voice (audio) as well, with each video channel having a matching audio channel for a microphone input. Multiple alarm and sensor inputs are available for door alarms, fire alarms and similar devices. Pentaplex operation lets you perform several operations at once without disturbing normal recording or monitoring functions.
Network connection is easy using the built in RJ45 Ethernet (10/100 Base) style LAN connector on the back of the DVR. Standard network protocols TCP/IP, HTTP, and DHCP all apply. Use MS IE7 or higher for remote live viewing over the internet or to play back any recording, or to change setup remotely (as long as you have the necessary security passwords).
Variable Pricing for Sensible Budgeting
Although we build them in the same case, and they look identical from the front, there is a difference between Nubix HD and Nubix HDX models that translates into savings for you.
The Nubix HDX can perform real time recording on all channels simultaneously at D1 resolution. The Nubix 8HD offers real time recording on all channels simultaneously at CIF resolution. D1 is a higher resolution than CIF and places a heavier burden on the imaging processor, requiring different support circuits. That makes Nubix HDX DVRs more expensive. Many users do not need to record real time video at D1 resolution on all channels at once. If this is the case then you can save some money by asking for the Nubix HD model, and lose none of the quality or additional hybrid features.
If you need to record at real time speed on all channels simultaneously at D1 resolution, choose the Nubix HDX series.

Nubix RT Real Time DVRs |
|
|
| |
The Nubix RT series of real time security DVRs offer 30fps recording on all
channels simultaneously, as well as multi-camera playback of video files with
audio. Four, eight, or sixteen camera model, each provides the ability to watch
multiple video playback on screen at once, while most other DVRs only offer the
ability to play back one video at a time.
Programming and setup menus
are understandable and easy
to navigate using a standard
USB mouse or with the
front panel controls. At the core of this real time DVR is an imbedded Linux operating system that controls the hard drive interface, remote viewing functions and security, and the multilingual menu GUI (graphical user interface). If the software ever needs upgrading you can always download it free from our support site. Downloading is easy. Merely download the upgrade from the internet with a computer, put it on a USB flash drive, attach it to your DVR and follow the menu driven instructions. We even supply the USB flash drive. All recording rates use the latest H264 video compression. Record in CIF, half D1 or D1 resolution with a variety of selectable picture qualities from Very High to Low. Watch your cameras in single camera mode or watch multiple live cameras at once in various split screen modes. A digital zoom function lets you magnify points of interest. Use MS IE7 or higher for remote live viewing over the internet or to play back any recording, or to change setup remotely (as long as you have the necessary security passwords).
Built-in functions make it easy for you to program event triggered notification - have the DVR send you an email if it detects unauthorized activity or assert a callback function (available in a network environment) that controls a Windows status icon. This makes the Nubix RT a perfect watchdog on unattended properties, or to monitor employees to make sure they respect areas that are out-of-bounds when supervisors are away.

|
|
| |
For the price minded shopper (and we are all price minded shoppers at one
time or another) the MAX series of security DVRs is always there to fit the
bill. Don't be fooled by terms like "economy" and "budget minded" when it comes
to MAX products. They've got all the necessary features, and they incorporate
user considerations like easy-to- understand menus, ability to export backup
files, and remote viewing. Programming is easy too, and MAX products are just as
dependable as their higher priced cousins.
So why are MAX DVRs cheaper?
The answer is simple and you probably already know why. Some features get
left out. What features? Premium features and options that all users don't need,
want, or require, like loop-back video connectors on every camera input,
matching audio inputs for every camera input, and point-of-sale (POS) features
like smart text insertion and text search abilities. Most residential users and

them? Don't get the idea that MAX security DVRs skimp on performance. They do
everything you need to monitor your property and store valuable surveillance
recordings. They give you full remote LAN and internet connectivity. View your
cameras and recordings with MS Internet Explorer browser software or use
specialized MAX client software (free with each DVR and downloadable from our

priced" is not "cheap". All MAX security DVRs are easy to set
up and program. They use a simple on-screen display (OSD) menu for selecting all
functions. They connect quickly to just about any network with TCP/P, DHCP, DDNS
and PPoE. All models offer mutliplex operation - playback and record at the same
time - and other features that make them powerful additions to any security
camera network.
